Entry to Reception Class – September 2027
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. We hope the below guidance helps you understand the process. Roseacre Primary Academy are hosting various open events, where we invite parents and children to come and view our academy.
Open Events

Open dates for September 2027 admissions:
- Thursday 15th October, arrival at 5pm
- Tuesday 20th October, arrival at 9:15am
- Friday 6th November, arrival at 9:15am
During your visit, you will have the unique opportunity to tour our modern classrooms, observing the engaging spaces where our students thrive. Beyond seeing our facilities, you will meet our dedicated and passionate staff, who are committed to nurturing every child’s potential. This is an ideal chance to engage directly with our team and ask any questions you may have. We believe this visit will provide valuable insights into what makes our school a special place for learning and growth.
Important Information
If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 then they should start school on the first day of term in September 2027.
The closing date for primary applications is Wednesday 15th January 2026. Offers for the Reception 2026 intake will be made on Thursday 16th April 2026.
Applications must be made via Blackpool Council. The link for applications can be found here.
We highly recommend you apply online. However, you cannot apply online as a late applicant so don’t leave it until the last day in case you encounter computer issues. If you have a child (sibling) already attending your preferred school, you still must complete an application form for the child starting reception in 2026.

Children who currently attend Roseacre Nursery
Children who attend a nursery that is attached to a school or academy do not automatically move into reception, you must complete an application form for your child. Attendance at a nursery is not taken into consideration when places in the reception classes are being allocated. You must still apply within the deadline of Wednesday 15th January 2026.

Appeals
If you are not happy with the school place you are given, you can appeal for any school. You can contact Blackpool school admissions for help.

Parents looking for their child to join our school during the course of the academic year will need to apply for a place through Blackpool Council’s School Admissions.
