In Year Two there are three classes;
- 2MB – Mrs Baker
- 2SC – Miss Cairns
- 2HL – Mrs Fisher and Mrs Nay
- Miss Sproule and Mrs Hartley support Year 2 as our teaching assistants.
- Mrs Bridges is the PEO (pupil engagement officer) for Year 2.
Mrs Elliott, Assistant Headteacher, is the phase leader for Year 2.
PE Days
Year 2 have P.E on a Thursday and a Friday.
If your child has pierced ears please make sure that earrings are taken out on a Thursday and a Friday or plasters are put on to cover them. Long hair should be tied back at all times.
Homework
Homework is an essential part of your child’s learning and development as it reinforces key concepts and consolidates learning that has taken place in the classroom. It should always be fun though—little and often is always best.
A maths activity will be sent home every Friday – please return this to school on the following Wednesday.
Reading books
Please read every night with your child and sign the reading diary. It is expected that they read at least one book each week. These are changed every Monday and Friday. Please read with your child and sign the reading record so that they can choose their new book.
Spellings
These will be issued every Monday for your child to practise ready for their test the following week. Please help your child to learn these and remind them to return their book each week. The spellings can be accessed on the school website and Tapestry each Monday.
