In Year Three there are three classes:
- 3SH – Miss Howarth
- 3SP – Miss Purcell
- 3LB – Mrs Purcell
- Mrs Burrows and Miss Green support Year 3 as our teaching assistants.
- Mrs Bridges is the year 3 PEO (pupil engagement officer)
Mrs Elliott, Assistant Headteacher, is the phase leader for Year 3.
PE Days
Year 3 has P.E on a Monday and a Friday.
If your child has pierced ears please make sure that earrings are taken out on these days or plasters are put on to cover them.
Homework
Homework is an essential part of your child’s learning and development as it reinforces key concepts and consolidates learning that has taken place in the classroom.
Maths will be set every Friday and should be completed by the following Thursday. This is being printed and sent home, while we teach the children how to use Google Classroom in school. After October half term, homework will be set on Google Classroom (a printed copy can be sent home if needed – please ask your child’s class teacher).
Spellings are set on a Monday, and are tested the following Monday. Your child will bring these home in their spelling book, and they are also available on the school website.
Reading
We would like your child to read to someone at home every night. Reading books will be changed on Monday and Thursday.
Ukulele
Your child will bring home a ukulele to practice, please ensure they bring it into school every Monday for their music lesson.
