Welcome to Year 2!

In Year Two there are three classes;

  • 2JC – Mr Crossland
  • 2SR – Mrs Richardson
  • 2LF – Mrs Fisher
  • Mrs Stanley, Miss Taylor and Mrs Brereton support Year 2 as our teaching assistants.

PE Days

Below are the days we do P.E.

2JC – Tuesday and Thursdays
2SE – Tuesday and Thursdays
2SR – Tuesday and Thursdays

Please ensure that your child has the correct P.E kit inside school. This should include:

1 Black/Gold P.E t-shirt
1 pair of black shorts
1 pair of school black pumps
If your child has pierced ears please make sure that earrings are taken out on these days or plasters are put on to cover them.

Homework is an essential part of your child’s learning and development as it reinforces key concepts and consolidates learning that has taken place in the classroom. It should always be fun though—little and often is always best.

MyMaths homework is set on Monday and is expected to be completed during the week

Reading – Please read every night with your child. And sign the reading diary. Your child can change their books on a Monday, Wednesday and a Friday. It is expected that they read at least one book each week.

Brainbuilder –  Your child will bring a Brain Builder home with lots of fun activities to choose from.

Reading books

These are changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please read with your child and sign the reading record so that they can choose their new book.

New spellings

These will be sent home every Monday for your child to practise ready for their test the following week. Please help your child to learn these and remind them to return their book each week. The spellings can be accessed on the school website each Monday.
